3-Ingredient Dairy Free Fruit Dips (VIDEO)

My whole family decided to do an involuntary detox to really get our bodies free of all the bad stuff we had taken in during the holidays. I lost 4 pounds in a day and my husband lost 10! It was the number one most effective weight loss regiment I’ve ever experienced.

Now of course, when I say we participated in an involuntary detox…I mean we got the stomach bug.

Now, at the time I couldn’t really appreciate this, but now that I’m on the other end and feeling better this has made me feel really blessed.

First of all, my husband had just barely started to feel better and he helped me move our recliner so that I could be near the bathroom and be comfortable. Through the whole time I was feeling bad he tried to find different movies to distract me and brought me basically every blanket in the house.

Second, I texted my mom and asked for Gatorade. She showed up with two huge jugs of Gatorade, pretzels, applesauce, four cans of chicken noodle soup, green tea, and really soft toilet paper. (And my husband went outside in 20° weather to get it for me.)

About an hour later I tried the Gatorade and for some reason that specific flavor was making me feel more nauseous. So my husband texted HIS mom and she went out and got us four half gallons of Gatorade and a 12-pack of minis. (Again, my husband went out to get it for me.)

Third, I got to work and started feeling bad about an hour later so I had the time to send myself some documents before I headed home. This meant that I had all of the information I needed to plan for an important meeting that I was running at 9:30 AM the day that I went back.

Fourth, I had planned out an awesome week of healthy meals before I got sick and the only thing that’s gone bad in the four days we weren’t eating normal food was the scallions! Huzzah!

As Psalm 23:5 says, “My cup overflows!” Even in the midst of the suckiness, I’m so grateful for the fact that I’ve been blessed with such an awesome family that is willing to go out of their way in freezing-cold weather to help me out.

So…I’ve gotten a good start to my New Year’s routine to be more healthy and have gotten a ton of rest the last few days. Now I’m ready to get my fruit-and-veg on with these yummy fruit dips!

Both are really easy to make and only require three ingredients. I’ll also give you a tip at the end for how to keep your bananas and apples from browning so quickly!

Chocolate Fruit Dip

Prep Time: 5 Minutes


1 Can         Cream of Coconut or Coconut Milk (only use the cream, not the liquid)
1/4 c           Cocoa Powder
1/4 c           Honey


  1. Refrigerate your cream of coconut or coconut milk overnight to help the cream rise to the top.
  2. Open the can and use a spoon to scoop the creamy top layer into your bowl. Set aside the can with the remainder of the liquid.
  3. Whip the cream for about a minute.
  4. Pour in your cocoa powder and honey and whisk until combined.
  5. If you want, sprinkle dairy-free chocolate chips over top. They look really cute!


Peanut Butter Fruit Dip

Prep Time: 5 Minutes


1 c         Silk Vanilla Almondmilk Yogurt (Soy yogurt would also work)
1/3 c      Creamy Peanut Butter (I used natural & unsalted)
1/4 c      Honey


  1. Pour almondmilk yogurt, peanut butter, and honey into a bowl.
  2. Whisk together until well combined and smooth.


Prep Your Fruits

If you want a good fruit tray to last through the whole party, there’s a simple way you can give it a boost. Lemon juice!

The best fruits to go along with these dips would be strawberries, grapes, bananas, and apples. If you need a refresher on the best way to cut/prep each of these, click on the links above!  The bananas have no links because I wouldn’t suggest cutting them the whole way. Just cut them in thirds so that the peel stays on.

No browning!

Dip your bananas and apples in lemon juice to keep them from getting brown too quickly. This link explains how it works.  I’ll give you a hint…it has to do with science.


Last, grab two small bowls or mason jars and a large plate and set up your spread!
