Sneaky Veggie Smoothies

Did you have an AMAZING Thanksgiving? I sure did. I got to hold my new second nephew-in-law, hang out with family, and eat some really delicious food.

Unfortunately…on the way home my tum tum started yelling at me. Apparently it likes to remind me that I’m lactose intolerant or something??

Anyway, I decided this would be a great time to spread some post-Thanksgiving cheer to help your body feel a little better after eating foods…or perhaps quantities of foods…that you’re not used to. I’m a huge fan of going hard on holidays since food is such an awesome part of getting together with people we love, but now it’s time to get our belly back in order.

Nothing in these are crazy weird ingredients (I hope), but I’ve found that one of the best ways for me to get back into the swing of things after a big feast is by eating some extra veggies. But if you don’t like veggies, what do you do?

You sneak them in with foods that you DO like!

Cashew Butter-Nut Squash Smoothie

1 cup frozen butternut squash

2 scoops vanilla protein powder

4 ice cubes

1 tablespoon cashew butter

1 cup almondmilk

(optional 1/2 banana or apple if protein is unsweetened)

Cookies & Cream & Cauliflower Smoothie

4 ice cubes

1 tablespoon maca powder

2 tablespoons cacoa nibs (optional)

3/4 cup frozen cauliflower

2 scoops vanilla protein powder

1 cup non-dairy milk

(optional 1/2 banana or apple if protein is unsweetened)

Beet & Berry Smoothie

5 ice cubes

1/2 cup frozen beets

1 cup frozen berries

2 scoops vanilla protein powder

1 cup non-dairy milk

Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie

5 ice cubes

1/2 cup spinach (frozen)

1 tablespoon cocoa nibs (optional)

2 drops peppermint essential oil (or peppermint extract)

2 scoops vanilla protein powder

1 cup non-dairy milk

(optional 1/2 banana or apple if protein is unsweetened)

Add all ingredients and blend until smooth. For me it takes about 60-75 seconds.
